Chris is building his first PC with his dad and wants to know if Leo has any "tips." Leo says that building a PC is a great project that will teach him a lot about how computers work. It's not really hard either, as the pieces will all snap into place. The real work is planning it out, deciding which hardware to use, etc. The first question is... what is the computer going to be used for? Homework? Gaming? Video editing? What's the budget?
Leo recommends that Chris spend some time at PC Perspective's Hardware Leaderboard. This will show the ideal parts based on a budget, and there are four different levels. It's a good place to get an idea of where to go for the next step.
