On Wednesday, Apple announced a complete revamp to the iPod line. Leo’s predictions were almost completely wrong. There were no mentions of the Beatles at all!
What irked the most people, though, was a $200 price drop to $399 in the iPhone. All those people who waited hours in line were incredibly infuriated. A day later, however, Steve Jobs announced a $100 credit for iPhone owners who purchased before the price drop. Still, Apple is making a huge profit on the iPhone. The reason for the price drop was to have an enormous Christmas sales season.
Here is what Apple ended up releasing:
Q Mike from Santa Barbara - Enabling call blocking on cell phone?
Q Lisa - Computer not able to restore to a restore point
Q Mark - Having Word documents appear with formatting without attaching
Q Dan from Barrington, RI - DirecTV HD TiVos
Q Wants to do live streaming video with archiving for church services
Q John - Wants to put video clips on his website
Bees may be missing due to cell phone towers? Sounds like one for snopes.com
Q Eighth grader Jacob wants everyone to know he’s set up a Leo fan site
Q Jim from Palmdale, CA - Norton saying ports 443 and 80 are wide open

Q Could the media be hyping the iPhone $200 price drop?
Leo says “That’s the way it is in technology”.
There is an open letter from Steve Jobs on this very subject located here.
PC World reports that Most iPhone Owners Happy With $100 Credit.
More on this subject at Google News.
Q Steve from L.A. asks is there an add on device that will pick up a wireless signal from a hotel room?
There are two options, passive and active.
An antenna increases gain passively by being either larger or made of a higher quality material. There is also an active solution using a transmitter/receiver combination that will substantially increase the range.
Radio Labs makes a notebook extender for around $100.00.

Q Kay also wants to know how to move her iPod collection from a PC to a Mac.
iPodRip
iPodRip also lets you backup your play list. Most other solutions do not.
iPodRip support available here.
Leo has tried them all and highly recommends WordPress.
You can download the latest version (2.2.3) from here.
Visit the WordPress support forums here.
Q Zac also wants to know if there is a mono bluetooth headset that lets you also stream music.
Leo is hard pressed to find one. Calls on the listeners for help.
EDIT: You might find the customer reviews for the Jabra BT8010 Stereo/Mono Bluetooth Headset useful. It provides both stereo and mono. Also can connect to two devices at once.
Q Scott - Will the iPhone will be available to other phone carriers?
AT&T has a five year contract with Apple. Although, there are ways to unlock the iPhone.
iPhone Sim Free states that they are about to release software to unlock the iPhone. They also state that they will be releasing this software to retailers only. So you will have to go to a local store in order to perform the unlocking. This solution, and iPhones for that matter, will only work with GSM networks.
Q Scott also wants to know if Leo would recommend a smart phone.
Leo says that he loves the HTC Mogul (PPC-6800).
For Verizon customers Leo also recommends the Verizon Wireless XV6700.
