- Sony’s 4k Projector is still not quite ready for prime time. Sony was reluctant to let a movie company use it as they knew it wasn’t quite ready.
- Film is analogue which is put into Digital by scanning them. Scanning at 4k is wildly expensive.
- Still photography is very close to film quality. Sometimes even better.

- Microsoft has slipped a new feature into Windows XP. It’s called CardSpace. It was origionally developed for Vista and copied to XP.
- Patches from Microsoft made XP install CardSpace. It is a means for Providing information in a convienient and nice and most importantly secure fasion to websites. The sort of things we have to supply over and over and over…
- You can have different infocards for different sites. Even credit card information can be held securely. The system is extremely secure.
- The idea is, we don’t need to remember all the different passwords we have… the jargon is “Single Sign-on”. Once CardSpace is widely supported by the internet through OpenID and we can just click a card per website.
- The way it has been developed makes it very secure. There are third party trusted providers that keep the data, not your computer. You can verify what your about to give them. This can be secured further using Multifactor Authentication.

Sir Elton John wants the internet closed for 5 years just to see what happens with the Music industry. He believes that the arts will become more advanced.
Leo finds SecondLife an interesting way to make money and socialize but doesn’t quite get it himself.
Hour 1
Q Rochell
- You can probably run the old Windows 98 kids software on the new XP machine.
- Right click on the program icon in XP and click Compatibility tab. Select the Compatibility mode for Windows 98. Then Run in 256 colours.
- Go to Gateway site and find drivers for her old Soundblaster sound card. You may want to look at the Creative site as well.
- But because Windows cannot see the card, the card is probably dead. You may need to get a new one. But open the case and take the card out, blow away any dust, and reseat the card.

- Skype is better than iChat and Skype is cross platform, unlike iChat. Skype has a much better quality.
- Skype is also Leo’s program of the year. It changes so much. He records all his netcasts in Skype.
- Leo records using a Mixer. However you can record your voices seperately using Audacity cross platform. For OSX use and on Windows use for Skype.

- Behaviour from Router is not from interference.
- Make sure it’s not overheating, and check for latest [[http://www.belkin.com/ | Belkin] firmware.
- Could be a hardware problem and you may need to get a new one.
Hour 2
Q Rochell in California
- She may have removed Spyware and it may have damaged some software.
- Account that she’s logging into doesn’t have Administrator access. At which case, policies may be set to disable the internet for a certain account. Safer to run as a Limited User.
- The account may also still have spyware on it.
- She may want to copy her files from the corrupt user account to the working one.
- He may be trying to do damage, only you know if this person is evil enough to do that. At which point, Reinstall Windows

- Open the new iTunes, and add the files to the library… It’ll ask you what to add, and just go over to the new hard drive you have and click on the folder with the music in.
- Go to Preferences, Advanced, and check the box that says “Copy files to iTunes music library”. Then go to File and Add to Library. It’ll create a new library on the new drive with all your old songs on it.
- Import is a way to import other music files into the library.

- iPhone works best with Yahoo! Mail and you can setup as many accounts as you like. Also try GMail.
- Forward mail you really want to the Yahoo! Mail account and then use Google Mail to send emails.
- iTunes will not let you sync with two machines at any one time.
- You should try having the contacts and calendars sync between the two machines. Take a look at Plaxo. All systems and the iPhone will Sync.

- You’re getting Bit Rot…
- Use your HP Restore Disks and it will be as fast as the day you got it.
- If you don’t have a restore disk from HP and you only have an offical Windows disk thenReinstall Windows using these instructions.
- Remember to make sure you update Windows before anything else after reinstalling.
Hour 3
Q Gaye in California
- Leo likes the Nikon SLR’s but prefer’s Canon cameras.
- Call Belair Camera in LA for help with this.
- Leo’s favourite sub-SLR is the Canon Rebel. Canon makes great lenses.
- The top of the line ones are the zoom lenses and the 24 to 105 is a good range from Canon. If you want to upgrade the body, the lense will be good forever.
- Canon is the way to go.
- Look at Adobe Lightroom. It’s expensive but it’s excelent for Pro’s. It’s designed for Digital Photographers.
Second Question: Get Nod32 instead of McAfee or Norton. McAfee and Norton are aweful.

- Fewer extentions in Firefox, the less buggy Firefox 2 will be.
- Leo thinks Firefox 2 is a little buggy, but if you don’t use the extentions use Safari that comes with OSX. It’s fast and as reliable as Firefox.
- Leo thinks Internet Explorer 7 is a very good browser for Windows, security wise and on Vista it is the most secure choice.

- Get a 3 button mouse instead of Apple’s mighty mouse. The right click on the mac does alot of stuff.
- Use column view for navigating but use Icon view for thumbnails in Finder. Just press Command and J and it’ll open the Preferences window. Click the checkbox that says “show previews” and then change the icon size.
- Chose between this window or all Windows. Then you can see thumbnails of all photo’s.

- Leo is happy with his Samsung monitors but price wise the Dell Monitors give the best bang for the buck. LCD’s aren’t accurate color-wise
- The best monitor for Color Management is the EIZO however they can be very expensive.

- iTunes for Windows has lots of issues.
- Sounds like the caller has a bad installation of Quicktime. Uninstall both first.
- Sometimes it’s better to install Quicktime first and then install iTunes afterwards.
- Tell the computer not to play using iTunes. Instructions on how to do so can be found here.

- Some LCD’s don’t do a very good job in Daylight.
- Look for a Waterproof camera. Leo recommends Pentax.
