  • Not everything has to be a closeup
    • But in several situations it is fitting
  • Rule of thirds forces you into thinking of the subject

  • Look for something that will transmit on the FM band
  • Get a mic with mini-jack out to go out into the transmitter
    • Everybody in range would listen using that
  • The Whole House FM Transmitter is also a great choice

  • Wirecast will turn your computer into a TV control center
    • PC or Mac
    • Will need to wire cameras to PC
    • Can even have one camera as a stream of desktop
  • No wireless solution yet

  • It is a codec issue
  • Gspot will make sure you have the right codecs
    • Will help you find the right ones
  • Reinstall Ulead

Q Heather - Setting up Lenovo laptop

  • XP/Vista are the same in terms of networking
    • Two machines will network together
    • No need to turn on file sharing until Dell arrives
  • You get online by turning on networking
  • Keep Windows Firewall turned on
  • Read up on Leo’s Rules for Computer Safety
  • Use Blink Personal Edition for an absolute safety solution

  • It’s more than simply the capture card
  • About software as well
  • Windows programs SageTV and SnapStream do this
  • Leo’s favorite is KnoppMyth which is a distribution of Linux which uses MythTV

Q Vince - Easy backup

  • Check out the Drobo
  • Will automatically keep things backed up on a RAID array
  • Can also use Carbonite

Q Computer slowing down drastically while playing music

  • Files not corrupted
  • Must be the audio card or driver for audio card
  • Timing on motherboard may be getting out of sync
