Here's a totally new product from Bose. No, it's not active noise reduction, which Bose is famous for, but a brand new way to mask annoying nighttime noises. Things like noisy neighbors, construction; or when traveling, vending machines, elevators, etc. Active noise reduction doesn't work for sleep, so they came up with a new technology, noise-masking. The new device is dubbed Bose sleepbuds. They don't (and can't) stream music, but they offer 10 preloaded soothing sound tracks (water, rustling leaves, crackling fire, etc.) designed to match and mask the unwanted noise.

Since you'll have these in your ears all night, these turn out to be the smallest device Bose has ever created. Considering the amount of technology inside, it's nothing short of amazing. You start by choosing the proper StayHear Sleep tips (S/M/L are included with each unit). Everything is designed by keeping in mind many people toss and turn, while others sleep on their side. There are no wires anywhere to get in the way during your sleep and the entire sleepbuds fit in your ears. The rechargeable micro batteries provide up to 16 hours of use off one charge. The included charging case is a convenient place to store and protect your sleepbuds and it provides one additional full charge when unplugged, perfect for travel.

Using the Bose Sleep app, you can set wake-up alarms that only you can hear, so you won’t disturb the person sleeping next to you. Bose adds: Because we’re always working on giving you the best possible experience, more soothing sounds will be available through future software updates. They're shipping now. $249.95.
