Leo says that's called "captive portal" and it requires logging in to gain access. It could also be a security update that is preventing it. It could be closing down a port that he needs to access the internet. He could try reinstalling the network driver.

2018 brought about the news that every processor built in the last ten years have a flaw in them that could give hackers access to sensitive data. Initially believed to affect just Intel processors, the latest is that this affects every single processor made, regardless of platform.

The flaws utilizes a technique called "processor speculation," which enables the processor to speculate what the user will do next in order to accelerate performance. But the feature also gives hackers access to sensitive L2 cache data like passwords. It's especially true for networks.

How can I transfer Windows 10 to a new hard drive?

How can I stop programs from automatically starting when I boot up?

Ron has noticed that some of his programs autostart when he boots up. How can he stop that? Leo says he doesn't like apps running in the background. There is a way to stop it, though. There's a power tool from Microsoft called Autoruns that will enables him to turn that stuff off. It's a part of their SysInternals Suite.

Why can't I update Windows 10?

David wants to know if he has the latest Windows update. Leo says that the Windows 10 Fall Creators update is the latest — vs. 1709. David also says that while updating, he runs into a problem and has to manually remove the update, downgrade, and backup his PC. He can't delete the Fall Creators update. Leo says that the problem is that there's 32 bit software that is blocking the update. The Fall Creator's update won't work with anything 32 bit. It's odd that Microsoft enabled it.

Should I get an i7 laptop?

The second version is about to drop and it's supposed to be better, though. Qingnan is confused though with the processor designation — it has two different processors claiming it's the 8th generation. Leo says that's marketing and often times that can be confusing.

How can I connect my desktop to my TV?

Zachary wants to play games and he's connected his desktop to his TV. When he tries to adjust the screen settings, however, none of the settings work. Leo says to try and change the settings before he connects the TV. The TV has a native resolution that is actually lower than the resolution on his desktop. He should check what his TV's native resolution is and then choose that setting that is as close as possible to it. He may also be in mirror mode instead of extended mode. So he should try and change that if he can.
