Is There a Browser for the Apple Watch?

Apple Watch

Episode 1799

G. Scott from Finland, MN

G. Scott recently bought his wife a new Apple Watch. It can do just about anything, but it has no browser.  Leo says that's what the iPhone is for! You really wouldn't want to browse with that tiny watch screen. And even if it did, it would be limited without the iPhone attached to it.  Don't think of it as a separate computer; it's more of a companion.

Apple Time Flies Event Hints at New Apple Watch

This Tuesday's upcoming Apple Time Flies event hints at a new Series 6 Apple Watch, a new WatchOS, and even an update for iPads. But Apple has already said that the next iPhone 12 is delayed due to issues pertaining to the Covid19 pandemic. So Leo suspects there will be no iPhone announcement. But he does think we'll get iOS14 shipping, as well as the next version of MacOS.

Other possible announcments include new Apple Silicon laptops, and perhaps new iPads.

Vulnerability Found in Apple's macOS and iOS

MacBook Air, iPhone, iPad

Episode 1308

Cisco has found a vulnerability similar to the Android text exploit, which could take control of your mobile phone through a text message. Leo says that Apple has released a patch to close the hole before anyone else had discovered it. This affects iOS, watchOS, macOS, and tvOS. Mavericks and Yosemite users don't have a fix yet, though, so those users should disable iMessage until they do. If you can't get past Mavericks because your desktop is too old, turn off iMessages permanently.
