Leo says that Windows 10 has a bandwidth monitor built-in, but that will only measure what your machine is using. Modern routers also have bandwidth monitors, but if you've been given a router by your ISP, it likely won't. That's why Leo always recommends buying your own router. Ken needs to replace his ASUS WiFi Router. He likes the router, but he was thinking about getting a Ubiquity model to handle the WiFi. Leo says you'll have to put it in bridge mode, but it would work as long as ASUS continues to update the router.
Dave would like to send his internet connection to another building on his property, a few hundred feet away. Should he use a WiFi access point? Leo says that's limited to about 150 feet. Leo says that the longer the distance, the slower the speed. A Ubiquity device is better because it goes point to point that directs the signal to where users want it. Melissa's Wi-Fi is really slow of late. Leo says that everyone is experiencing bad Wi-Fi these days because we're doing more with it and dozens of devices are typically connected to it. Congestion is a serious problem. To eliminate her ISP as the problem, she should connect directly to her router and see how it performs. If it's just the same, then she'll know that the ISP needs to fix the problem. But if it improves, then it's her Wi-Fi network.
