Big doins! Johnny Jet and his wife are having a baby!
Johnny Jet was about 60 miles away from the Belgium attacks this week, but he says that terrorism shouldn't deter anyone from traveling. It only means that the thugs win if we do. If anything, we should travel more. Tip - Always use the bathroom on the terminal side of security. That way anyone in there has been searched.
Johnny Jet is preparing to go on a river cruise. River cruising is very slow and casual. Nice and relaxing. You don't have to worry about seasickness, either. The Wi-Fi is great and dining is casual.

Sandy hears that airlines can raise the price of a ticket if she doesn't buy it right away. Leo says that's true. Browsing an airline will put a "cookie" in the browser which will save the information and the site will then see she's been there and raise the cost. Leo recommends clearing her cookies, or better yet, browse in incognito or private mode. That way she's always looking with "fresh eyes" and they don't know who she is until she's ready to check out.
Johnny Jet joins us to talk about a great app called Seateroo, where you can swap seat assignments with whoever is also on the site. It usually costs per seat, and the price ranges. Think of it as StubHub for airlines. Leo wonders how the airlines feel about it, and Johnny says it's so new that they haven't chimed in yet. Seataroo holds onto the money until after the flight and then makes the transfer if everyone is happy.
Johnny Jet is joining us from the LA Times Travel Show, where he's giving a speech on How to Travel like a Rock Star. He loved Leo's 360° videos with the Ricoh Theta S. Leo says it's really the best VR camera out right now for the consumer. Meanwhile, Leo is curious how he can be bumped off a plane for the aircraft being overweight. How do they weigh it? Since they were flying standby, could they have been bumped by seating of Gold members? Johnny says yes. There are perks to being an elite flyer and standby people are always the first to get bumped.

This week's travel app - City Mapper for Android and iPhone.
Johnny Jet has some quick tips for getting cheaper airfare to go home for the holidays:
1. Be flexible. You're not going to get a deal leaving Friday afternoon and returning Sunday like everyone else wants to do.
2. Stay away from the low fare carriers. Even though it shows a really low price, you're actually going to end up paying more if you're checking or carrying a bag on.
3. Consider the time of day. Leave the time blank when searching for tickets.
