Shane works for the Schlage lock company and more people want the company to start using Macs. Leo says that volume licensing is not as complicated as microsoft, but Apple also doesn't have as good of enterprise level support either. But Apple will update the computer regularly. He doesn't have to install the updates — He could defer or even ignore them. It's not a good idea, though.
Andrew is thinking of switching from the iPhone to the Google Pixel 3. How's the camera? Leo says that he's seen images of the Pixel 3 and the camera is blowing him away. Google has really refined computational photography to the point where the images look very much like those shot with a DSLR. It feels great in the hand, too. People don't like the notch though. But Leo says he'll get used to it pretty quickly.
Myron is considering trading in an old iPhone 6S Plus, giving his wife his iPhone 7 Plus and going with the Essential Phone. Leo says it's a great deal because it's a flop sales-wise. It's too bad because it's a really good phone. It had an issue with a crashing camera app, but that has since been fixed along with other housekeeping fixes. Leo now says that the Essential Phone is flawless and one of the only phones running Android 8. It's also $200 off right now. It has a super fast Snapdragon processor and OLED screen with no bezel.
Rob wants to replace his 5K iMac with a Windows desktop. He loves the hardware, but he's just not a fan of macOS. Leo says that if he wants flexibility with his hardware, then Windows is a far better option. Leo says that he doesn't have to get rid of the iMac if he likes that hardware, he can just run Windows on it through Boot Camp. He'll just need to buy a copy of Windows 10.
Jessica is looking to make "the switch" to a Mac Mini from her six year old Windows Machine. She's a photographer. Leo says that the Mac Mini is going to be faster and with the ability to use her current monitor and keyboard, it's going to be an easy switchover. Is it worth getting a Fusion Drive? Leo says to get a solid state drive (SSD). They're faster. And she should get as much RAM as she can afford. Since she's into Photoshop, Jessica should have at least 8GB of RAM.
Alan just got a 15" MacBook Pro, but he considers himself a geek and is wondering if this was really a good purchase. Should he switch? Leo says that OS X is far more secure, having been based on a pure UNIX system called BSD. It's important to note that he can also run Windows on it through Boot Camp. So when he boots up, he can choose Windows or OS X.
Avi is an Android user who's looking to make the switch to the iPhone 6. What's going to be the hardest transition? Leo says that settings are a bit different. What about contacts? Leo says that since Avi is a google user, it'll all be automatic once he logs into it.
Avi will have to get the separate Google App to still use Google Now, otherwise he has to use Siri. But Leo thinks that Avi will like the iPhone.
