MiFi

Ken is starting a new business from his truck (he's a truck driver). Leo says it's amazing that he can make that kind of transition and do it from the road so easily. All he really needs to have is an idea and the gumption to make it a reality. There's no better time to do it. But Ken is worried about how consistent the internet access will be on the road since he'll need to access his data in the cloud. And what laptop and modem to buy for it? 

David has a tablet that he wants to add LTE internet access to. Can he do that? Leo says that it supports Wi-Fi, so he can use it with a MiFi card and connect that way. He can also hotspot with his mobile phone, depending on whether or not his carrier supports it. But he'll probably have to pay extra for that privilege. Leo also uses a Google Fi card with his tablet. They work in a lot of different devices.

Sarah is traveling overseas and wants an international cell phone plan. Leo says that it depends on where she is going and for how long. A smartphone is very valuable for traveling overseas. Sarah will be in the Middle East, Israel, Syria, as well as some countries in Europe. She should check out prepaidwithData.wikia.com. Leo says he can use apps like Tango and Skype to do that, but he's still paying for data. No cell company offers a mobile phone with just data only.

Gregory has an RV and wants to know if he should get satellite for it that will give him faster WiFi. Leo says he could, but it would cost him a lot of money and would be a hassle to re-position the dish often. The future is in LTE, and it's also more affordable. Often times it's faster than home internet as well. He can get a WiFi device and he will then have access to over five different devices. Leo recommends Google Fi because it has three different ISPs on the same device and switches to the one that is better. And he can pay as he goes with it.

Paul is going to be traveling to Great Britain and wants to know how they can use data while out of the country. Is SkyRoam a good option? Leo says that SkyRoam is an interesting pay-as-you-go option when traveling. Google Fi is another, as is a MiFi card. Pay-as-you-go is nice because Paul would pay for only what he uses. He'd also want to be sure they support high speed data.

Ron has an RV and wants to know how to get satellite internet for it. Leo says he can get a disk that fits on his RV, but it's not the greatest and he'll always have to reposition it. Leo says that 4G/LTE is a better option. Every carriers sell MiFi cards that will enable him to connect up to 5 devices to it and have access to the internet.

Another option is the KarmaGo. It's pay as you go and Leo uses it when he travels. It's about $10 a GB. Ron should also check with his carrier.

Paul's friend is getting married in Italy and they want to know how they can get internet in their room. Leo says to go to prepaidwithdata.wikia.com. There, he can find where to go to get a MiFi card. A MiFi is a small credit card sized device that gets internet from a cellular network and turns that signal into Wi-Fi. That way he can pay through a local carrier in Italy and not pay international data roaming fees.

Eric has an iPhone 6 Plus and he's heading to London, but AT&T refuses to unlock his phone while he goes. What are his options? Leo says that's because they want him to buy their international data package. Leo recommends renting a MiFi from a local British carrier and use it for his data. He should turn off data roaming on his phone, though. That's how Leo did it and it worked great.
