Tom's contract with Verizon is almost up and he's thinking of moving to another carrier. Leo says that Verizon is on CDMA and T-Mobile and AT&T is on GSM. But pretty soon all will be on LTE, so it won't matter anymore. He wants to move to a no contract carrier. His mother wants to get an iPhone 5S. Can he get that off contract? What about the iPhone 6? Is that coming in the fall? Leo says that's the speculation. Will it be larger? Leo says nobody really knows. There's been pictures of larger screens, but they're prototypes.
Jack wants to know when the new iPhone is coming. Leo says the rumors are that the new iPhone 6 will have a larger screen (finally). But they're still just rumors. And Apple never really leaks out dates of when it will come out. If we look to the past on how Apple has released iPhones, we can get a fairly good guess. It's usually around September. There's not much more they can do with it since it's a mature product.
This week, the Cupertino rumor mill kicked into high gear and Leo says that some of them are down right nutty. The first rumor is that Apple will skip the 5S and go straight to the 6. The second is that Apple will announce a new budget iPhone, with a plastic body and a myriad of colors.
