How can I stream from an Android tablet to a larger monitor?

Google Chromecast

Episode 1704

Tim from Oak Hills, CA

Tim wants to know how to hook up a tablet to a bigger screen. Leo says the easiest way would be to use Google Chromecast. You can connect that to a monitor and then use an app to cast the app to the TV. But the app needs to support it. Another option is a TypeC adapter to connect it. Are there apps that can make his tablet into a laptop? Leo says if it's a Samsung Android, then yes. But cheaper tablets don't support that option and aren't powerful enough anyway. You get what you pay for.  But you could use the web browser and access Google Docs that way online.

If the TV or projector has an HDMI port, he can plug in a Google Chromecast and then cast it from the computer. ScooterX says he can put PLEX on Playstation and then it becomes a media server to cast from the computer.

Why does my phone keep casting to my TV?

YouTube app

Episode 1492

Brett from Woodbridge, NJ

Brett has issues accidentally casting to his TV while watching YouTube. How can he stop doing that? Leo says that something on the TV or streaming box is enabled. It's probably a Smart TV feature. Can he get rid of the button in YouTube? Leo says no, it's part of the app. He can go into his phone settings and disable casting, though. He could also look in his router and disable casting there. If his cable router doesn't do that, then he can buy his own router for $100, and it'll pay for itself in no time. Then he can block it that way, too.
