Also, use the replace photos with thumbnails option so that the originals aren't left on your phone. You may need to buy extra iCloud space though. So the other option is Google Photos. Download that app and backup your photos and videos to Google Photos. You get 15GB of uncompressed space, or unlimited high resolution space. All for free.

It's a safe app if he gets it from the Google Play or iOS App stores. But it is owned by Facebook, and they will use his data for advertising. It isn't using personal details, but some details such as search data, likes, and keywords.

Patrick is also worried that his old iPad isn't being updated anymore. Leo says that while he won't get the most recent iOS, the security updates will continue. Nothing to worry about there.

Leo says that Amazon's fire tablets don't come with Google Play — he'll have to use Amazon's own app store. It's possible to install the Play Store on the Fire tablet, but he'll have to turn off "only download settings in the play store" or "don't allow apps from unknown sources" option. It's in "settings and security" in the carousel.

Why does my iPhone screen go black when using Facebook?

George has an iPhone 7 Plus and the screen goes black when he's in Facebook. Leo says that it's possible that his case could be squeezing the phone, causing it to shut down. Also, restarting the phone once a week will clear out any code that could cause problems.

Scooter X says that in iOS 9, there was an issue where Facebook would go dark. So George should make sure he's updated. While he's at it, he should just uninstall Facebook and download and reinstall the app. There could be a problem with Facebook. There was something similar happening a few years ago.

Leo says that both Google and Microsoft will have a message on Progressive Web Apps. These are apps that will be web centric, with the idea that you can download pieces of the app that will operate off line, but with the rest of the work on a backend in the cloud. Leo says that it's no longer about the operating system.

Leo says that there are parental controls built into the iPhone, but there are apps that really take it to a new level. He can block apps and features as well. He can even white list numbers that would allow calls while disallowing others. He should also look at what restrictions the carrier offers.
