While the so-called "Trash Can" Mac Pro was made in Texas, the new Mac Pro will be made in China. Leo says that it's purely a cost-effective move since all the manufacturing is now in China.
Two years after it announced the surfboard like Qi charging station known as AirPower, Apple announced today that it was cancelling the product, citing engineering issues. Leo says that according to iFixIt, Apple probably never would've been able to get it approved by the FCC. Apple did release the AirPods 2, which now has wireless charging. So while you can't charge your iPhone and your AirPods at the same time, you can now charge both wirelessly.
The reason why Apple is going to a subscription model as opposed to the iTunes music purchase model turns out to be due to waning sales. More people are listening to streaming music than are buying music and downloading it. So it makes sense that Apple would want to get into that business with a subscription service. It's why they bought Beats. And their $10 a month service is competitive as well.
With the US regulatory commission having approved the acquisition, Apple has officially absorbed Beats into it's corporate family. Meanwhile, rumor is that September 16th will be the official announcement date for the iPhone 6 and maybe some other cool stuff. Will we see the iWatch in time for Christmas?
