Doctor Mom is calling in to talk about all the latest Echo products put out by Amazon. The Amazon Echo Input, is a speakerless Echo that you can attach to a speaker you already have. Echo can read your email if you ask, too. There's also a feature called Alexa Guard, which willl listen for things like glass breaking and smoke detection, and will turn on all the stereos really loud and then contact the authorities.
Amazon Echo Show
Lillian says that you can use your old Fire tablet as an Echo Show now thanks to a new Pogo dock by Amazon. Leo says it sounds like just a charging dock and with an software update, it would turn it into an Echo Show. But the dock doesn't have any speakers, and the screen isn't all that great. So it's an interesting device if you have a surplus Fire tablet lying around, and for $35 it's not too bad.
Dave got an Amazon Echo Show for his mother in law and he wants to know how to call her with his. How can he make calls from one Show to another? Leo says she has to allow it. He also has to be sure both of them are on each other's Show contact list. Dave will need to know the name of her Show. Amazon has a good setup tutorial on how to do Drop Ins here.
