Chris always gets the question, "Will a better camera or more technology make you a better photographer?" From both sides, he says yes and no. On the one hand, Chris says it's OK to buy a new camera. If you want one, get one. But make sure you make the most out of it. Buy the camera well ahead of your trip so you can practice with it. Use it with various situations so you know how your camera performs in all those conditions. The more expensive and complicated a camera is, the longer it will take you to learn it. Keep shooting, and keep practicing. So when the important shot happens, you'll have everything in muscle memory to grab it on the fly.
