Amazon's Kindle Fire HDX has been tested by DisplayMate and came out as the best tablet display on the market, especially for photographers. The Apple iPad Mini with its Retina display was judged to be last behind the HDX and the Google Nexus 7.
The Kindle Fire does have some disadvantages, because it's a heavily modified Android OS designed specifically for Amazon's store. But at $229 for the 16GB Wi-Fi, it's a popular seller. Amazon has a nifty "mayday" feature that allows users to get help from technical support, which can even take control of the tablet and teach the user how to do something. Leo says it's a great choice and is now part of Leo's Buyer's Guide.
