Short answer: no.
Long answer: most video content we view on televisions are captured at a lower resolution than 4k. However, televisions are starting to have this technology called "upscaling" that will take your videos and scale it up to a higher resolution. In this case, 4096 x 2160. That's great! ... Right?
Unfortunately, when it does this, it can make your videos look blurry and not as crisp and sharp as it can be. If you're viewing content that was natively captured at 4k resolution, then your 4k television will be perfect to view it! Otherwise, you're fine with most 1080p televisions. You'll save some money too!
