If traveling to or staying in Istanbul, Turkey for a while, buy an affordable Motorola Moto G6 and use a Google Fi phone plan with it. It is only $10 for each gigabyte of data (until 6GB) and $20 per month for unlimited calls and texts. Leo used this combination when he went to Turkey and had a great, convenient time while enjoying the bridge country where the East (Asia) meets the West (Europe).
Johnny Jet is in Temecula for a little family getaway. The SuperBloom is underway in Southern California. Because of all the rain, there are California Poppies all over the mountains. Additionally, this week is the Painted Ladies butterfly migration from Mexico. So taking a drive through Southern California is a beautiful sight to see right now.

Johnny is calling in from the Celebrity Edge cruise ship, where he's previewing the new ship. And it is posh! There's also a rooftop garden.
Leo tells Johnny Jet that he's impressed with just how good cruising is now thanks to technology. The Wi-Fi has gotten much faster and the pay service is getting more affordable. $30 for three hours, which you can stretch out by logging off when you're done and stopping the clock. Johnny Jet says that the new ships are smaller in space, because of all the technology. If you want space, you are better off cruising on the older ships.
Travel Tip of the month - Don't buy your Thanksgiving travel tickets too early. According to HipMonk, October 1st is the best day to buy your tickets to travel for the holidays. Get flight alerts from FareCompare.com, SkipLagged.com and Google Flights. Johnny says you won't get the best fares on the Wednesday before or the Sunday after the holiday, so it's better not to wait to book those.
Lately, Johnny Jet has been frustrated with Uber and Lyft drivers that are late, and have no room to stow his luggage. So he's starting to use Blacklane. It's about two to three times more expensive, but it's more of a limo service with professional drivers. It's all around the world and they use roomy cars. They show up early and wait for you, not the other way around. And you can use your phone to order it.
App of the week - Gentle WakeUp, Sleep Alarm Clock and Sunrise. $9.99, but with the coupon code WakeUp2604, you can get it for $1.99. Great alarm clock. Sadly, it's Android only.

Mike wants to know what he needs to use his iPad on Wi-Fi. Leo says that any iPad will work on Wi-Fi. If he has LTE, however, he could use it anywhere. But for Wi-Fi, a regular iPad will work just fine. Since Mike is traveling internationally, Leo recommends also getting a MiFi card, which he can put a local SIM in for Wi-Fi. But since Mike is in the US Virgin Islands, international data roaming won't be an issue. Leo recommends getting an AT&T carrier version of the iPad. Leo likes the iPad Mini for traveling.
Mike is a commercial pilot and he called in to talk about Johnny Jet's tweet about mist in the airplane cabin. Mike says that airplane mist happens a lot in humid climates when the cold air from the airplane's AC meets the warm air of the cabin. It's very normal, and only happens when the plane is at the gate and hooked up to an air conditioner to keep boarding passengers cool.
