Why does my iPhone switch between SMS and iMessages?

SMS is the standard, and he can choose that setting for those who aren't on the iPhone and iMessage for those who are in his contacts. He should also check to be sure the option to send as SMS is turned on, should iMessage fail.

Leo says that the new iPhone 6 is probably the best phone experience you can get. And it supports Google very well. But Leo says you can attach your outlook account to Google through the settings by using Yahoo as the middle man. So you connect the Windows Phone to Yahoo, and then connect Yahoo to Google. You can do the same thing with LinkedIn. And they're free.Once you have that connected, then you can go to Google natively and have all your contacts.

Cliff recently bought a Motorola Moto-X for his wife. He's holding out for the Note 3. Leo says that the Galaxy Note 3 will be announced Sept 4th.

The problem is that they are an iPhone family, and text messages won't send via SMS. Leo says that to go into the person's contact entry and uncheck the box that says 'iMessage'. Then it'll go to SMS. Leo says that iMessage has a flaw that prevents it from knowing when to send a text as iMessage. Leo also says that this is part of Apple's way to keep users in the Apple ecosystem.
