How can she use it hands-free in her truck? She should make sure Bluetooth is turned on, and she can enable "Hey Siri". If she doesn't want her phone to respond to that command, then she should put it face down. Then just her iPad will answer to "Hey Siri".

Leo says it's not in Android itself, but they have an app that will run on the phone to do it. Leo says it's called Android Auto. It'll give him a completely hands-free experience and he can enable auto launch to take over the second he turns on the car.

Why do car companies put touch screens in cars when they want us to keep our eyes on the road?

They want us to keep our eyes on the road, but they include touch screens and that's nuts. Leo agrees with Mike. Leo says that car companies, and even Apple and Google are looking for hands free solutions including voice operated directions, which work with a smartphone. But Leo doesn't know if that will make things better or worse.

Samsung's Velingo will do it, but Google's voice feature is better. The key is to set it up where he can launch it from his headset. He can put his phone into car/driving mode. There's an app called Iris that will do it as well.
