Button Lamp is a tiny LED Lamp that can light dozens of dark areas where a larger light won't fit. Stick them up on a shelf in kitchen cabinets, in a closet, tool box, etc. They're also perfect for power outages, camping trips, and even on on boats. And yes, they're waterproof and submersible. They come in a handy 6-pack for under $10. Dick does not recommend the 3-pack for $7.99. They also come with an adhesive disc for quick installation. Batteries are included and not replaceable. Each device contains one 13 Lumen LED.
This week, Dick's gadget is the Asobu Portable Cold Brew Coffee Maker. Here's what the company says about cold brew: “Using hot water on your coffee granules creates a more acidic bitter drink while using cold water with coffee and allowing it to steep as with the Asobu cold brew creates 80% lower acidity, smoother, naturally sweet taste and also gives it that extra punch of caffeine. Making cold brew coffee is easy, but once you mix the coffee and water, you have to wait 12-24 hours for it to be ready to drink". See the whole process in the video below.
Dickie D is back. This time with a selfie stick with it's own built in LED light. The Mpow Selfie Stick provides a wide-angle LED light with low, medium and high brightness adjustment modes. In the back there's a convenient mirror so you can see how you look before the camera goes off. Built into the handle is a 1500mAh battery. It's charged via amicro USB charger cable which may not get in the package. But any tech person has a lot of them laying around. The company says the battery provides about 72 hours of LED fill light time, 30 hours of Bluetooth connection time on a single charge.
This week's gadget is a deal of the day called the Stack-On 18 Drawer Storage Cabinet for $14.99, Dick bought one. These are some of the features: Drawers stay closed with the snap-close drawer System. See-through drawers let you see your parts at a glance. Customizable drawer labels for identification of contents are included. (Both good features.) Easily mounts to wall or stands on bench or counter top. NOTE: Drawer will be harder to pull and push - A little force will be needed to bypass this stay-closed system. (Wow, is that right!
The new Waterpik Sidekick has ultra-compact and convenient design. Dubbed the Waterpik Sidekick Water Flosser, it's great for travel and makes it easy to water floss anywhere, anytime. As you see in Dick's video below, it collapses easily for storage and fits in almost any purse or briefcase. It comes with a new flossing stylus with integrated classic tip and swivel handle. The tips are not changeable, so this is designed for a single user. The company says it removes up to 99.9% of plaque from treated areas. One neat feature is the global voltage plug.
Coach seats on an airplane are uncomfortable enough, but having to fight over the small armrest between coach seats makes it even worse. There's a neat solution for that. Soarigami doubles the existing armrest space and provides a friendly barrier, so you and your seatmate can comfortably share fairly. However, the company strongly suggests that before using the device, you simply ask your seat-mate neighbor if they're willing to share. Dick guesses that when you show them the Soarigami, they'll be very interested in sharing it.
How clean are airplane seats? That's where Seat Sitters come in. They are disposable seat covers that are easy to pack or carry with you. Great to use on airplanes, at movie theaters, special events, or anywhere where you want to be sure you're sitting on a clean seat. The company says they're perfect for cold, flu and allergy season and make an excellent guard against contact with peanut and food allergens. The kit includes a disposable tray table cover (but there's no way to secure it to the tray on an airplane), two sanitary wipes and one allergy mask.
From GizWiz.Biz - Turbo Pot has come up with a new design for cookware. First, here's some info from the company: Constructed of heavy-duty 304-grade stainless steel, the Turbo Pot cookware line by Eneron, Inc. is engineered to outperform the standard pot by a wide margin— significantly improving the heat transfer of open-flame range cooking. Turbo Pot heats up between 35 and 50 percent faster than regular cookware, allowing home chefs to save time and energy, and improve indoor air quality.
If you like waffles, then the Giz Wiz has a gadget for you. The Kalorik Easy Pour Waffle Maker is very easy to use and cooks your waffles at a 45 degree angle! Simply use the included measuring cup to pour batter into the spout of the closed waffle maker that sits at a 45 degree angle. It looks like that would be a disaster, but a rugged gasket holds the batter firmly in place and the angle makes it possible to distribute the batter evenly. Indicator lights plus five browning levels for custom cooked waffles 7" in diameter about an 1" thick.
Dickie D recently bought the MUTE BUTTON after watching a video of it sent in by Mo, a big fan of The Giz Wiz Show. It solves a problem we all have, and that's the need to lower or shut the sound of the TV when the phone rings, or someone shouts to you from another room. Finding the “Mute” button on the typical remote is no easy chore. It's worse if you're getting up in years and you're looking for the “mute” bottom in a darkened room. You need 20/20 eyesight to find that mini mute button. Enter the giant Smash Mute button!
