Why doesn't Dell support Windows 10 on my laptop?

Richard has a Dell computer and he upgraded to Windows 10. It didn't work too well, though. It turned out that Dell doesn't support Windows 10 on his computer even though it qualifies. He downgraded back to Windows 7. Leo says that there's some hardware on the laptop that they think doesn't have a Windows 10 driver. But if Microsoft says it's ok, it should be ok. Leo recommends trying it again. Leo says that Microsoft is out of control in trying to get people to upgrade to Windows 10, though. They've even added it to the recommended updates portion of Windows update.

Leo also says to try another program that can use the camera to see if it works. If it doesn't, then it's definitely the camera driver. If it doesn't crash, then it's the camera app that's causing the problem.

It could just be a bad driver, but then again, they reinstalled the OS and the problem persists. So it has to be hardware.

She googled the driver error and Leo stopped her right there and said that Googling drivers is a dangerous thing to do because she could get a nefarious hacked driver. He recommends always going directly to the manufacturer for the latest drivers. Rene can go to Dell and look at the specific machine. Each one has a device number. She may be missing drivers from extra USB peripheral devices.

Boot Camp Assistant will automatically install it. Microsoft will also allow him to download a Windows 10 ISO and it will verify the ISO to be sure it's valid. He can also use this app to download any missing drivers (thanks to Beastmaster in the chatroom).

Microsoft may have put in a driver that isn't supported by Larry's hardware set. There's a good chance there's nothing wrong with the hardware and that in time, Microsoft will release a fix.
