Hiding the SSID won’t really help very much as there are lots of tools for finding out hidden SSID names. You should setup WPA encryption on the device which is very secure. Do not use WEP.

You can use a tool called Evernote which allows you to access all your notes on multiple devices. You can have them all sync between your computer, phone, iPod Touch…etc. Any device that can access the Internet.
