Blu-ray is ideal for a TV above 50″, a PS3 makes a great Blu-ray player, and about the same price as a standalone player.

To copy retail Blu-ray discs, you would have to break the copy protection first. Slysoft’s AnyDVD HD Software will rip the disc, and you may be able to use Nero 8 with the Blu-Ray plugin to burn the rip.

Blu-ray Software also sells several programs which claim they can do this.

802.11 N will work with the wireless card in the MacBook Pro, and will work with 802.11B and G equipment. A network printer would probably be the best bet to share a printer between the two.

If you just copy programs over to the external drive, then Windows will get confused. You’ll have to install them to the external drive.

On some versions of Windows, you can tell Windows where the Program Files folder is supposed to live. Tweak UI from Microsoft, does allow you to move them on Windows XP.

If you have a secure system, then the medicines just help as a backup.

Don’t open email attachments, but this is less true these days. It still applies, just be careful. Make sure you visit safe sites. Make sure you run Windows Update regularly, and use a hardware firewall (eg. Router).

If you see a thick gray bar with red text below the status bar of your Mozilla application, it is usually caused by a faulty extension. Sometimes, the gray bar will include text that provides a clue as to which extension is causing the problem, but usually it just contains an ‘^’.

It could be a result of overheating. You should have used the tiny little dollop of thermal compound. Too little or too much can cause overheating.

Too many fans can make it hotter. What you really need is strategically placed fans. It could also be a power supply issue. You really need to make sure it has enough power to power the whole computer.

Building your own computer is a little challenging. You should try making a Live CD of a Linux install, and boot to that. That completely bypasses the hard drive.

If it runs fine, then we know it’s a problem with Windows, or the Hard Drive. If it doesn’t run fine, then we know it’s a hardware problem.

Second Question:

There’s no more ‘Windows Sharing’ in Leopard, but there is ‘File Sharing’, and you’ll want to make sure it uses Samba.

It doesn’t sound like an Office issue. It sounds like some wider security issue. You need to change the NAS storage permissions so that the new machines can read and write to it as well.
