Q Denise in San Diego - Best computer to use with World of Warcraft (WoW)

WoW is not demanding on video cards. Best thing to get is a good display. Get at least a 24 inch display. If you want to play high end games you can get an SLI card, but not necessary for WoW. Core 2 2 gigahertz or better CPU is best, nVidia GeForce 9 series card is a good card to use. Bigger the screen the better. I use a 30 inch display for the most immersive experience.

Q Arnie in Los Angeles - Best software to make an image of a drive

Use Drive Snapshot to make an image of a drive is a good solution. As long as the computer can see the drive that the image is copied to, it should be able to restore the drive. The software should be able to do incremental backups. Also consider off-site backups.

Q Mary in Redondo Beach - Whenever she writes anything it capitalizes the first letter of the line. How to access the Internet wirelessly. You only need to hit enter when you get to the end of a paragraph. There is no need to hit enter when you get to the end of the line of text like you would on a typewriter. The capitalization is happening because it is trying to automatically correct the line of text by using Word as the e-mail editor in Outlook. This can be turned off in the options. To access the Internet wirelessly you need a wi-fi card.

Leo doesn’t have a fix for it. Your real time hardware clock seems to be fine. You might want to see if it fixes it when you log out and back in.

You may need to change the permissions on the site. You really need to harden the site down, to secure it. Use tough passwords… don’t use dictionary words, use a random mix of letters and numbers (for example: Nyfd73s%$2hd would be a good strong password).

You should probably contact your ISP and say you can’t access a certain folder.

Service Pack 3 for XP is just a roll up of the patches that have come out since Service Pack 2. If you’ve been updating regularly, you pretty much have it already.

Service Pack 1 for Vista is going to change Vista. For example, Google was upset with Microsoft because Vista was indexing your files, but it caused problems with Google’s Desktop search client.

The EU is going to fine Microsoft again. It’s got to be a little frustrating for Microsoft. The EU thinks Microsoft is anti-competitive. Microsoft is also cutting the prices of Vista by 20%.

Microsoft is cutting prices only on the higher-end versions of Vista, and only for the upgrade version used to move from XP or another copy of Vista. The suggested price for Vista Ultimate drops to $219 from $299, while Home Premium falls to $129, from $159.

A study from the University of Iowa says that ignorant customers are happy customers. If you know little about a product, they like it more. The less you know about a product, the more you can engage in wishful thinking.
