- Microsoft has slipped a new feature into Windows XP. It’s called CardSpace. It was origionally developed for Vista and copied to XP.
- Patches from Microsoft made XP install CardSpace. It is a means for Providing information in a convienient and nice and most importantly secure fasion to websites. The sort of things we have to supply over and over and over…
- You can have different infocards for different sites. Even credit card information can be held securely. The system is extremely secure.
- The idea is, we don’t need to remember all the different passwords we have… the jargon is “Single Sign-on”. Once CardSpace is widely supported by the internet through OpenID and we can just click a card per website.
- The way it has been developed makes it very secure. There are third party trusted providers that keep the data, not your computer. You can verify what your about to give them. This can be secured further using Multifactor Authentication.
