Anyone here with a Mac that has a built-in iSight? Let me beam you up! ;-)

I have a dell ispiron 9300 with 512 ram. Would I see a difference if I install 1 GB ram? Is it worth it?
Just upgraded Firefox to 2.0 and a lot of my extensions hadn’t upgraded yet. If you are an extension hog, you may want to wait on upgrading unless you can do with less extensions.
Tutorial on using iWeb with other servers and fixing encoding errors:
The previous iweb post was by me… http://www.leo.am/radio/Profiles/Vegabondx (Vegabondmx)
when you click in favorites and it opens a web page, can it always open up in max?

Apples 1.3 iPod firmware seems to have resolved the stuttering people were hearing on podcasts. It’s out. I had the problem with 1.2, but it’s totally gone with 1.3

I have 1 IPOD and would like to sync it on 2 Windows PCs. Can I do this?
For the guy wanting to replace the scanner glass, Goodwill has tons of scanners cheap! Pickup another one for $9.99 or so and use it as-is or take out the glass to fix your old one.

Unless your system is swapping memory to hard disk, there probably won’t be an improvement.
But it depends on what programs your running.
You can use task manager to give you a hint.
Your laptop has dual channel memory capability, so
if you need 1GB, use 2 512MB SODIMMs.
For handheld GPS I like Garmin Rino, especially if I’m going to be with someone because of FRS. You have to buy the Topo map separately.

under the software section is the maps.
Not cheap, but…
Does Leo even KNOW what he’s talking about???
Leo just said to the gal doing Video Editing that a, QUOTE, “CD holds 4.6 GIGABYTE … “! (check the podcast in the 3rd hour, if you doubt!)
Pray tell oh God of Radio Tech Guy, just where do we find those “CD’s” that hold 4.62GB ????? (and he DIDN’T say DVD, ether!)
When will someone design a ram interface that will plug into a ram slot then via Ribbon cable to a module that has 100= gig of flash ram or something like that?? — I have usb to IDE so i can hook up external drives for storage !!

DriveImage XML is good for images. http://www.runtime.org/dixml.htm
German company = Convar?
eblaster is a very reliable application
Here is another site for USB HD adapters http://www.geeks.com/details.asp?invtid=USB2IDE-25-35&cat=CBL
I use Norton Ghost Key logger It records everything and it will email you with details when you want. I use the every two hour emails.
You covered the drive image software in show 259 http://leoville.tv/radio/ShowNotes/Show259
DriveImage XML will take an image of a live system and allow you to look in the image and restore one file rather then all files.
Norton Ghost rocks!
WOW talk about an abrupt end to the SHOW
me again i am still trying to print my mp3 music list.i tried copy paste to wordpad, notepad and clipboard but did not work.how do you convert it to text and print it??????
to (dt) try this web site and see if it’s what your looking for.. http://www.pcworld.com/article/id,99464-page,3/article.html
To anonymous who said, “just upgraded Firefox to 2.0 and a lot of my extensions hadn’t upgraded yet.”
The Nightly Tester Tools Firefox extension adds a few extras useful to those that regularly test nightly builds of Firefox. A usefull feature for many allows you to force Firefox to believe an extension is compatible with the current version and enable it. https://addons.mozilla.org/firefox/1391/
I thankthis person “Truth in Radio”, Why, because he’s right. It’s become a Apple Show. No doubt due to the Northern Cal. influence!
I would really like to see or hear more Linux drum beating.
And can’t we just declare no more calls about spyware (geeees). Hey I know lets just have one show dedicated to being slightly more geeky that normal! About anything! Doesn’t have to be about computers.
Missed the show today….no notes?
If you look at last Saturday’s show notes (#293), you’ll notice that Leo’s away and this weekend’s shows are pre-recorded.
Truth in Radio doesn’t know any facts and is a Windows bigot.
Fact 1. WIndows is insecure. Fact 2. OSX is secure. That’s all you have to know to see why Leo advises people to buy a Mac. The OSX operating system is easier to use, totally secure, and the Mac hardware and software are made for each other and work together seamlessly. Windows and PC’s can’t match that in any way ever.
Sometimes the truth hurts when you’re on the wrong side and right now Windows is not the right answer so get over it.
More Truth: “ I thankthis person “Truth in Radio”, Why, because he’s right.
Doesn’t have to be about computers.”
I don’t think you understand that the radio show is intended to include the non-geeks just as much as the seasoned techy. Leo’s going to get the same questions over and over. And what seems obvious to you and me is confounding to the noobs and older generations. If you’re looking for something to make you more geeky try one of the many other TWiTcasts.
TO ---(dt) there are easy ways to list your mp3′s — I use 2 programs 1 is cute PDF Writer, Use it if you Have Adobe Acrobat Reader Installed, Find it Here ---→ http://www.cutepdf.com/Products/CutePDF/writer.asp <—It will act as an installed Printer and will Creat a .pdf Print to it instead of Paper then Print it to paper Later depending upon how much music you have, I have 106 Pages 4229 mp3′s and that is only 1/3 of what i Own — THe second Progrem is Jet Audio Player 6 Get it Here --→ http://www.cowonamerica.com/download/ ←-- It is an exelint Player After you install it on the Player interface there is an ALBUM button click on it , That will Bring up Album Management then on the 6′th icon from the left It looks like a folder click on it and select your music folder then click OK then check the box that says add files in sub folders also then click OK and wait for it to creat an album of your music ,, When it gets done , on the same Album Management Screen Click on EDIT Tab Then go down the list to (select all) then click on the album tab go down the list to ( Print ) click on it , then when your printer selection window comes up select CutePDF Writer then Print to the file or Desktop after it Gets done Go over to that Location and look at it …..
Abrupt ending for sure. I really wanted the answer to how one records streaming audio or video. Any recommendations for shareware?
Jet Audio 6 Has a Record Feature ,Web Broadcasting , Disk Ripping , Burning , File Converting and Many Other Features
Sorry Jet Audio 6 don’t Record Video but Nero has an extension to record Video from external Sources ( Not the web ) ,and also Firefox Will Record Streaming From the Web
I just upgraded to Firefox 2.0 & lost the mail Icon.
It doesn’t show up on any toolbar. Has it been dropped? Or does it live in some secret spot

What would have been different if Bill Gates was a redneck….(I personally Feel that alot of these things would be improvements!!!)
1. Their #1 product would be Microsoft Winders
2. Instead of an hourglass icon you’d get an empty beer bottle
3. Occasionally you’d bring up a window that was covered with a heftybag
4. Dialog boxes would give you the choice of Ahh-ight or Naaaaa
5. Instead of ta-da the opening sound would be dueling banjos
6. The Recycle Bin in Winders’95 would be an outhouse
7. Whenever you pulled up the sound player you’d hear a digitized drunkredneck yelling Feebird!
8. Instead of Start Me Up the Winders’95 theme song would be Achy-Braky Heart
9. PowerPoint would be named ParPawnt
10. Microsoft’s programming tools would be Vishul Basic and Bishul C++
11. Winders’95 logo would incorporate the Confederate Flag
12. Microsoft Word would be just that: one word
13. Instead of latte carts we’d have grits carts
14. New Shutdown wav: Y’all come back now, Yah hear?
15. Instead of VP, Microsoft big shots would be called “Cuz”
16. Hardware could be repaired using parts from an old Trans Am
17. Microsoft Office replaced with Micrasawft Henhouse
18. Four words: Daisy Duke Screen Saver
19. Well, the first thing you know, old Bill’s a billionaire
20. Speadsheet software would include examples in inventory dead cars in your front yard
21. Flight Simulator replaced by Tractor Pull Simulator
22. Microsoft CEO: Bubba Gates
23. Instead of asking “where do you want to go today? it’s more like Hey mister, can I ketch a ridein the back?
24. Free eraser to erase the scribbble marks off the screen when using the NotePad
