Hi Leo and KFI listeners!
Are you a Mac user? Or, are you thinking about switching to Macintosh? Do you need help with your Mac-related hardware and software problems? Or, are you a long-time Mac user?
I’d like to extend an invitation to Leo and all KFI listeners who are interested in the Mac to attend the next meeting of the Orange Apple Computer Club!

November main presentation: Mac Maintenance on a Dime
Presented by Jim Mitchell of Jim Mitchell Designs
For our November main presentation, OACC is pleased to present Jim Mitchell of Jim Mitchell Designs. With proper care, your Mac can run for years and years without losing data or crashing. Jim will show us how to maintain our Macs using a variety of low-priced or free utilities, such as his Yasu utility, along with an outline for regular Mac maintenance. Please join us November 5. Main presentation begins at 11:00 AM.
December meeting: Our December meeting will be: Saturday December 3, 2005, at 8:00 am. Our topic for December will be “Email, Email, Email!” by Darrell Stinson.
Last meeting: At our October Main Presentation, OACC’s own Dean Cleary showed us Softchaos’s Webstractor, which allows you to save entire web pages to your hard drive, with links, images, etc. saved intact. Thanks, Dean!

The Macintosh Users Group Serving the Inland Empire (Southern California) meets on the 3rd Tuesday of every month.
Our usual meetings are at 7pm at the Janet Goeske Center in Riverside.
Please note a change of venue for just our October meeting.
Professional photographer Peter Phun will demonstrate iPhoto 6 with novices in mind covering how to organize images, backup, search, create slideshows, make easy image corrections and then how to share your images. He will also show how iPhoto 6 integrates with dotmac and iWeb, Apple’s WYSWYG website authoring program. This event is free to attend but only members of the user group can participate in the raffle held at the end of the meeting. Excellent for recent switchers to Mac or anyone contemplating a move to Mac.

The SOCALWUG is here to be a local resource for those interested in wireless computer technology, wireless professionals, businesses and individuals looking for information on wireless.
Our monthly meeting includes educational presentations and information about all facets of modern wireless computer networks SOCALWUG provides wireless Internet access for public events. We meet monthly (fourth Thursday of the month at 7:00pm in Pasadena) to discuss a timely topic, and have a presentation from a company working in the wireless arena. We have product vendors, service companies, book authors, and users present on their products and experiences.
Meetings include very active question and answer sessions. Do you have a wireless question? There is always someone at a meeting to help answer your question. Our meetings include having workshops, drive-in meetings, hands-on labs, product demonstrations, and more, more more!
As we grow, we will continue to evolve and address the interests of the group as a whole.

LACS is a non-profit organization of about 200 members dedicated to helping each other, and others, live peacefully with PCs. Basically, we help each other with computer problems and questions. Our member roster covers the entire spectrum of computer skills and knowledge, from those who are just learning to grapple with their first computer, to those who wrestle with computer code. Each month a topic of general interest is presented by a special guest or LACS member. Topics range from the latest software releases, to how to select and use a digital camera, to the latest techie gizmos, to how to build your own laptop computer. Several Special Interest Groups (SIG’s) also meet monthly to learn more about a specific subject, such as beginner/Internet/E-mail, digital photography, hardware (fixing the contraptions), software (e.g. Word, Outlook, Excel). Beginning level questions are welcome at all meetings.
Our general meetings take place on the second Tuesday of each month at 7:00 PM, at the Fellowship Hall, 8065 Emerson Avenue, Westchester (corner 80th Place, one mile N of LAX), Maps. These meetings are free to all. Refreshments are available.

WINNERS is a great place to see the latest software and also learn how to use it. We provide a easy (and fun) atmosphere for you to see new and interesting programs or hardware. Each month we have demonstrations of how to work with different programs, or hardware. We also have a discussion of problems (Random Access) and how to solve them. Computer tips are given each month. Hunter Valley Linux Users Group Home
A Hunter Valley Linux Users group is operating in Cessnock, holding meetings at Marthaville Cottage on Wollumbi Road.
Local enthusiasts of the Linux computer operating system got together early 2002 and formed a Linux User Group
The aim of our group is to promote this fast developing and free computer operating system, to share experiences and ideas, and to help new users of all ages through the installation and configuration process in a friendly atmosphere, said group spokesman, Mike Birchley.
Meetings are held on the first Tuesday every month from 7pm at Marthaville. Contact enquiries@hvlug.org.au.
Mr. Birchley said he instigated this non-profit user group[HVLUG] about a year ago because the nearest group is Newcastle or Central Coast.
The group rents a room at Marthaville and members have been contributing $5 each meeting to privide funds to set up a website. People wanting to know more please contact us at the email address above.
