The #techguy chat channel is only for chatting during the Leo Laporte Show. If you would like to chat during off hours, the chat channel #townsquare is available. In your IRC client just type /join #townsquare - all of us are waiting for you!\\

The #techguy room will become “invite only” (i.e. closed to new chatters) once Leo’s show is over. Shortly after Leo leaves the chat, all will be removed from the channel and asked to go to #townsquare. The channel moderators will try to give one or two minutes warning to allow the chatters to finish their conversations.

The moderators vary depending on schedule. Dan and Mike_B are almost always there. Moderators are indicated by a different color or icon depending on your chat software.

The chat logs are plain text files compressed into .zip files (if you don’t have an unzip program I highly recommend the free izarc for Windows if you do not currently run Win XP - (Mac OS X and Windows XP both have .zip file integration built in with the OS). It’s ok with me. Rogers loves the show, loves me, and is putting in the resources necessary to make it even better than before. Aside from the commute (one week a month in Toronto) this is the best job I’ve ever had. I don’t even mind the commute that much!\\
