Google Pixel 3 XL

Google Pixel 3 XL

Google's latest Pixel phones are here, and as to be expected, the camera is very impressive. The rear camera is 12.2 MP dual-pixel with optical and electronic image stabilization, autofocus with dual pixel phase detection, a spectral and flicker sensor, and an f/1.8 aperture. The Pixel 3 and Pixel 3 XL feature two 8MP front-facing cameras including a wide-angle lens to get more people or more of a backdrop in selfies. It also has a better digital zoom, and can retain a surprising amount of detail when zoomed in. Low-light shots are better and less noisy thanks to Night Sight mode. And there's a Top Shot mode that will take multiple pictures before and after the shutter button was pressed, and it can recommend an alternative shot if necessary.

While the OLED display on the Pixel 3 XL is much better than the one from last year's Pixel 2, people are complaining about the deep notch at the top of the screen. The notch typically allows phone makers to extend the display all the way into the corners, but Google only extended its Pixel 3 XL display into the top corners. The bottom still has a bigger bezel or a 'chin' which contains a speaker. The display of the Pixel 3 XL measures in a 6.3", while the smaller Pixel 3 is 5.5" and does not have a notch.

The new Pixel phones run on a 2.5GHz + 1.6 GHz 64 Bit Octa-Core Qualcomm Snapdragon 845 processor. They also now have a Titan M security module, which is a microprocessor chip that will help protect the device from hardware-specific exploits. Read more about the Titan M chip at blog.google here. The phones have 4GB of RAM and come with either 64GB or 128GB of internal storage.

Google's Pixel 3 starts at $799 and the Pixel 3 XL starts at $899. Its available in Just Black, Clearly White, and Not Pink.
